Welcome to Darien Public Schools

The Darien Public Schools web site will be going through many great improvements. Our ultimate goal for the site is to keep parents informed of the events that shape their children's education. It will become an information resource, arranged for quick and easy access.

Any comments about the web site or future enhancements you would like to see added to the site should be directed via email to the webmaster.

Update on H1N1 Influenza – February 9th

The turnout continues to be significant for the H1N1 vaccination clinics that are collaboratively sponsored by the Darien Public Schools and the Darien Health Department.  The role of the Health Department has been to administer the vaccine, while the role of the schools has been to help publicize the events.

The most recent immunization session (Feb 2nd) administered 220 more vaccines, bringing this winter’s total to over 1,300.  Due to the continuing, steady demand, another clinic is being organized.

We remind parents that they can bring their children to the next scheduled H1N1 vaccine clinic being held on Thursday, February 25th, from 3:00 to 7:30 pm in the AUDITORIUM  of Town Hall.

Please read the following February 8th Press Release from Darien Director of Health, David Knauf, linked to this message.  Thank you.

Video-On-Demand for Board of Education Meetings

On a pilot basis, the Board of Education is making available on this website, the video streams of the budget meetings that have been held during January.   Our hope is to make this service a permanent feature of the school district website.

In order to locate the meeting videos, look along the left side of this homepage to find links to the first three videos which are now available for viewing.  Click on the link to download the video stream to your own computer.

We hope the public finds this a helpful way to enhance the public’s access to information.
