Darien Superintendent of Schools Announced

The Darien Board of Education is delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen V. Falcone, PH.D. as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2010. The Board of Education chose Dr. Falcone for his expertise as an instructional leader, his commitment to student learning, gained through twenty-four years in public and private education, and his deep knowledge of the educational system in Darien.

New Assistant Principal for Middlesex Middle School Appointed

The Darien Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Donald P. Fiftal are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Andrew Byrne as Assistant Principal for Middlesex Middle School. He will replace Gordon Beinstein, who accepted a position as Principal of Harborside Middle School in Milford, CT last year.

The Darien Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools Donald P. Fiftal are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Luke R. Forshaw to become the next Assistant Principal for Ox Ridge Elementary School. Mr. Forshaw would fill the vacancy being created by the promotion of Keith Margolus from Assistant Principal at Ox Ridge to Principal of Royle Elementary School.

Heating Oil & Diesel Fuel Bid 2010-2011

The Town of Darien and the Darien Public Schools are soliciting bids for #2 Fuel Oil and Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year starting July 1, 2010 and ending June 30, 2011. Those interested in submitting a proposal can pick up forms at the Darien Board of Education, 2 Renshaw Road, Darien, CT or click here. Bids will be received until 3PM EST on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Bids must be delivered to the above mentioned office in a sealed envelop labeled "FUEL BID".
