Say it Clear… No Bullying Here!!!
September 2012
Dear Families,
Welcome to the tenth year of the Darien Public Schools S.T.A.R. project! Beginning late this month, a book will be circulated throughout each class approximately every three months. There will be a total of three books for the year. This age appropriate literature was selected because it encompasses both the spirit of the Kids’ Code as well as our position on bullying. Please take time to preview the books. We encourage your involvement in the reading and discussions of these three books. We have provided carefully designed discussion questions that have been attached to the front cover of the book.
Along with each book, you will find a Darien Public Schools S.T.A.R. Record sheet. After you have read and discussed the S.T.A.R. book with your child, please sign the record sheet and have your child return it to school with the book. If you choose to provide any comments, there is a place for you to do so on the bottom of the record.
Thank you for your participation. We are looking forward to continuing our home/school partnership.
Sincerely,
Darien Public Schools
STAR Committee
