The Alternate Learning Program  at DHS

Darien High School's ALP is a regular education alternative to the mainstream program. We offer students a chance to take classes in a less formal, small-group setting that allows greater scope for their individual interests and intelligences within the regular curriculum. ALP students are also encouraged to communicate effectively, advocate for themselves, and develop the self-discipline, motivation, and good working habits that they will need to be successful through and beyond high school.  For more than 30 years, ALP has played an active role in the Darien community as well, and our students' learning extends far beyond traditional academic areas.
