Thank you parents! - For participating in the online survey conducted through last week regarding H1N1 vaccination intentions. We have tabulated the results and forwarded them to Darien Health Director David Knauf.  David will be analyzing the data further to help inform his decisions, though we  believe it is safe to say that this baseline data shows enough interest in children being vaccinated locally, that we will work in the direction of hosting vaccination clinics in each of our schools.  Beyond that, however, it is much too soon to identify more detailed logistics until the federal and state health officials can give us a much clearer indication of when vaccine will be received in Darien and in what quantities it will be rationed.   The vaccine shots will be administered by Connecticut certified medical professionals.  Our school nurses will not be called upon for this service, since we will need to maintain the regular operation of our school health offices.  David Knauf is in discussions with a private health services provider in the region to assign the medical personnel to give the actual inoculations.  At some point in the future, we will be soliciting parent volunteers to assist at the clinics with the logistics of helping to move students through the process so that the clinics disrupt the school routines as little as possible.  You can view the survey results by clicking the link below.
