Library Policies:
Library hours are from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm
Students visit once a week with homeroom classes, shelf markers are used to assist with book selection
Students are encouraged to visit more often on their own to exchange books or research areas of interest
Extra class visits are scheduled to work on special projects
Checkout limits: Grade 5-5books, Grade 4-4books, Grade 3-3books, Grade 2-2books, Grade 1-one book until February, then-2 books, Grade K- 1 book
Students may keep books for as long as they are using them. If another student requests the item, the student will be asked to return it to the library if it has been over 3 weeks.
If students are at the max for checkout when it is their library day, ONE book may be saved behind the checkout area per student, students may return any day of the week to return books and get the saved item.
Students in K-2 may choose books from designated areas; students in 3-5 are allowed to pick books from any area.
It is suggested that students who are beginning 3rd grade choose books labeled with blue dots or yellow cellophane.
One magazine may be checked out at a time for 2nd-5th grade students
Books on tape may be checked out to anyone (1 at a time)
Videos and dvd’s are for teachers use only
Internet use is monitored
Students must ask permission before printing any items
