What amazing kids we have here at MMS! On Thursday April 28th, 10 creative kids, 3 architects, 2 parents, 3 teachers all trekked up to Meriden Mall off I91 to compete in an annual FOOD DRIVE of an unusual sort. Architects schemed this activity more than 10 years ago nationwide. The idea is to combined creative efforts of architects and students to make the world a better place. Architects and students spend time together designing and redesigning the structure presented last night. The title is "DragCAN in a BLUE Wave". Their thought was to combine the two school symbols (middle/high) in one expression of town spirit. Thursday, May 5th the winner will be announced. The structures will be exhibited for 2 more weeks at Meriden. After that all food cans will be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank to help replenish the food reserves. The kids are from several teams and from 6th and 7th grades. If you see them in the halls, let them know that you've seen their handiwork.
