J. T. V. - Volume #2
By Jay A., Purple Team

The 2006-2007 television season is finally off and running, and to start us off, Monday nights' How I Met your Mother! Ted and Robin are finally together; I've waited a season and… there already getting annoying, please break them up! Barney was well, Barney; he lives in the gang's favorite dining establishment, and his pretending to hang himself everytime Ted and Robin were talking just made me laugh out loud. And the best thing is that he is still single... maybe Robin and Barney would make a good match. Marshall and Lily could leave the show and it wouldn't matter, except in the 2nd episode where Lily goes apartment hunting, and Ted and Robin make a bet. Ted thinks Lily's miserable and Robin thinks she's happy. They launch Operation Cinco de Mayo 1998, and Lily confesses she's miserable. In the meantime, Barney steals the a pair of twins from Marshall, Lily throws the drink at Barney to start to win Marshall's heart, and suddenly, the entire storyline gets confusing in the matter of two episodes. Grade so far…85%.

Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday and Wednesday. After a disappointing Week One, I don't have a favorite yet, but I'm probably going with either Emmit Smith (former Dallas Cowboy) or Mario Lopez (Saved By The Bell's AC Slater), because everyone else was atrocious. Oh, and a little message for Mario, you've taken dance lessons! We've all seen Saved by the Bell. Tucker Carlson needs to stick to news, not dancing! In episode 2, the performances were so much better, Joey Lawrence (actor formally on Blossom)nailed his performance with some added tap, Emmit brought down the house with a touchdown celebration, and Monique shook up the joint, literally! It was a MUCH better episode, as we said bye to beauty queen Shannon Moakler, but she won't be missed. Grade so far … 87%.

Thursdays bring us my favorite show, Survivor! Unfortunately, my boy from New york, Mr. Trumpet himself took a loss, and got voted out. I hope they merge soon because right now the Asian's and Latino's have the competition won. Some one tell me what's up with Adam and Candice. Unfortunately times two, the next episode was the WORST EPISODE IN SURVIVOR HISTORY! Since when do you throw a challenge?! Then you have bad numbers going into the merge! I have to admit the challenges were better, but still I'm not catching the Survivor fever this season. But Billy, Mr. Heavy Metal is out! Overall a disappointing 79%.

My Name is Earl. Earl is helping Joy; in the first episode, he helps her return a stolen truck with a man in the back of it, which did NOT work out. Joy ends up going to jail. So in the 2nd episode, Earl helps her get out of jail by getting money from this guy who owns “the town.” So, he succeeds after fainting and eye twitching. It's still funnier than it sounds, but the humor level is not as high as in previous episodes...Grade 89%.

The Race that is Amazing... it started in Seattle and BAM! It was great, right off the bat they eliminate the last pair to finish eating the fish eyes, what a TWIST. So the Muslim brother's B'ail and S'deed were eliminated, but the race continued and the teams had to climb the Great Wall of China. Unfortunately it was hard to do with 1 leg... that's right there is a woman (named Sarah) with only 1 leg! She eventually made it to the top, and a dating couple gets sent home 2nd. Grade for the 1st episode 94%.

There's more Race though, as the 2nd episode had a lot of laughs, controversy, and better challenges. Peter and Sarah fight all across town, but not half as much as Rob and Kimberly. Let me give you some background on the two couples: you know Sarah has one leg, but you didn't know that Peter is her leg doctor, so they decide to get to know each other by going on the race. Rob and Kimberly have been dating for 9 years, but after this race I don't think they'll date a minute longer. The competitions improved including a priceless "fall off a horse" moment with Kimberly. Karma was not working in this challenge as Tom and Terry (best friends), Lyn and Karlyn (single moms), and the coal miner and his spouse (David and Mary) all share something in common, there cars broke down. But it all came down to a 2, 4, 6, 8. The Cheerleaders came to the pit stop late and were sent home. Grade 98%.

Here are my wild card picks. Watch these shows, they might turn out good: The Class, Studio 60, and Project Runway. I don't watch Lost, but the seasont that everyone was waiting for has finally arrived. Enjoy!
