Middlesex Middle School Presents "Fable"

From March 27-March 30 Middlesex Middle School will be performing the original production “Fable.” The production was written by Middlesex’s own, Heather Maher, a 6th grade Social Studies teacher on the Red Team. With music by her and Scott Slater, Mrs. Maher wrote this play specifically for young adults and is thrilled to be able to see her vision come to life. “Fable” marks one of the largest casts that Middlesex has seen in years with over 75 cast members and close to 100 students participating in the production in various ways.

The story of “Fable” is not your traditional Broadway show.The fabled land of Amala is fractured and divided because its people do not understand the value of interconnectedness and the sacredness of the light found in the Great Tree at the center of the kingdom. The people of Amala grow distant and try to survive apart from each other, squandering the precious light of the tree. As the light fades and darkness falls over the land, the faults and flaws of humanity prevent them from understanding how to save Amala and its people. Through their trials and adventures, each character understands how they acted unwisely and together they return to the great tree and reunite to relight the Tree of Light and celebrate in its warm and nurturing glow.

Other adults working with this production are Timothy Sorensen (producer), Kimberly Lambert (musical director), Abigail Warren (Stage Manager), Peter Barbieri Jr. (Set Director/Construction), Debbie Vingo (Choreographer), Krissy Dorn (Costumer), Jeff DeMaio (Lighting Designer), Amy Wade (Props), as well as numerous parents who have donated their time and energy to help our students put on a fantastic production. Tickets for “Fable” will go on sale Monday, March 19th and will be $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children.
