Restaurant Review: The Melting Pot
By Charlie B., Purple Team

Last month, my dad and I had friends coming to town that we were going to take out to dinner. However, we noticed that we had never tried the Melting Pot. So, Dad and I were spontaneous and took our friends, who had never gotten a first impression of our town. But afterwards, not only were Dad and I exclaiming about it, our friends raved about it so much that they told all of their friends and neighbors! If my friends loved it, you will go crazy for The Melting Pot!

Starting It Off

The fantastic journey of tasting the delicious food at The Melting Pot begins with a choice of a cheese fondue dip. You have a great mix of dips to choose from. Some possibilities include the Cheddar Cheese Dip, Fiesta Cheese Dip, Traditional Swiss Cheese Dip, Wisconsin Trio Cheese Dip (which I had and highly recommend), and the Featured Cheese Dip. Along with the fantastic dip of your choice, you get some fresh, warm bread and apple slices to dip in the cheese fondue. The cost is $18 for this appetizer and it serves 1-2 people. For each additional person, the price goes up by $9. Now tell me: what other restaurant starts you off with cheese fondue dips? Overall: The Melting Pot's cheese dips are original, and they taste great! Grade: 9.4

Main Courses

If you thought the dips were good, you're just getting started! For individual meals, you have a choice between the Breast of Chicken, Shrimp & Sirloin, Teriyaki-Marinated Sirloin, The Seafood Trio that consists of shrimp, scallops, and fresh fish fillet, and The Vegetarian, which I would highly suggest if you are a vegetarian. However, here's the fun twist: all of your food is given to you raw! When you receive your food, you get a metal bowl of boiling water that you cook your food in! Each piece of meat needs to be stuck in the boiling water for about a minute. Overall: Getting to cook your own food is a great new twist, and it tastes great! Grade : 9.6

Desserts

Even though the dips and main courses are phenomenal, The Melting Pot saves the best for last. Instead of ice cream and cake, you receive metal bowls of hot, melted chocolate. You also get a platter of food to dip in, including bananas, apples, strawberries, and other juicy fruits. Overall: The Melting Pot's desert is absolutely the best sweet session I have ever tasted! Grade: 10

The Melting Pot Overall: The Melting Pot is a fantastic, completely unique restaurant. If you have never been there, stop reading this and GO RIGHT NOW! Grade: 9.4
