J. T. V. - Volume #4
By Jay A., Purple Team

The Dancing with the Stars finale was in November, and it featured three strong dancers in the Final Three. After Jerry Springer finally took his last step on the dance floor as well as Monique Coleman, it was an all-male final three, including Joey Lawrence, Emmit Smith, and Mario Lopez. They each performed 2 dances, and all ended up with a score of 59's, which put it in the viewer's hands. After a dramatic end, Joey had to say good-bye and they moved onto a tense 3 dance conclusion including a free-style dance with no rules.

In the first dance, Emmit came out with his best stuff and was praised with two 30's. Mario was more impressive, and I say that even though I'm an Emmit fan. But despite Mario's slick moves, he picked up one less point than Emmit. That led to a free-style dance where Mario was a street dancer and Emmit tried (but didn't succeed) on “THE GREAT FLIP." Just like the previous week, the two ended in a dead tie, leaving it to the viewer's. In a drawn out finale Emmit Smith, the former Dallas Cowboy, walked away with the trophy.

Interesting fact: Cheryl Burke, Emmit's partner, has won both years in a row. Overall Grade: 90% A-.

I never wrapped up Project Runaway, dating back to October. It was a tough showdown between four flawless designers: Michael, Jeffery, Laura, and Uli (ok, maybe not Jeffery). The task was to create ten outfits for a runway show, and the winner of course gets a fashion spread in ELLE magazine and 100,000 to start their own line. During this two-week extravaganza, Laura questioned Jeffery about getting inside help, but the only help he got was from himself and he moved on for the exception of going over the budget. Clearly Jeffery going over the budget didn't matter because he won!

Overall grade: Disappointed.

Survivor time! After a very disappointing opening, with dreadful challenges and a total giveaway on who was going to the Final 4 (it will be Yul, who has the idol, Becky, Candice, and Jonathan, at least I think so..), their was a big switch-up after Plan Voodoo failed and Cowboy and my friend FLICKA were eliminated; It was time for some rebellion! Candice and Jonathan flipped to the other team to reunite with Poverty and Adam. Of course, the lazy Raro team lost again, forcing two people to go home. Then, the tribes merged 5-4, in favor of the lazy boneheads. Ozzy, the person who never evolved from a monkey (ok, not really, but if you see him climb a tree, you'll understand) hung on to the pole the longest sending someone home from the old Red tribe, right? Wrong, Jonathan flipped again, making Nate, my personal favorite, get the famous words, “Your Tribe has Spoken.” While all this was going on, Candice and Adam reconnected, creating some Survivor romance!

My surprises thus far this season: THE CLASS and 30 ROCK, two shows I didn't plan on watching that I'm getting hooked on. Also after an awful start, The Office is finally funny, so keep those shows in mind.

My disappointments thus far this season: MY NAME IS EARL, and even though I don't watch it I've heard LOST is tanking hard. Beware!
