NEIRAD enilno edition
Load printer friendly version
Spring is officially here. After a long winter of layer upon layer of heavy fabric to keep us warm, it is nice to begin to think about new clothes for the warmer months. We can factor in fashion and style instead of just focusing on what to put on to keep us from freezing! We tapped some of DHS’s most stylish and innovative dresses to give our Neirad Enilno readers inspiration for spring shopping. As you will read, we are not talking about spending big money to look hot. It is not cash but flair and creativity that makes these DHS style stars flash. Don’t miss more of Allie and Clemmy’s top picks in the April 15 print issue of Neirad.
Sam Choos:
Grade: Senior
Your inspiration: Old Nickelodeon shows, English essays, photos of my mom in college, my sister's closet
Favorite brands: Diane von Furstenberg, Stretsis, 213, Tory Burch, Stuart Weitzman
Inspired by any specific person?: All the women on my mom's side of the family.
DHS's best/most uniquely dressed: Megan Ardery
Do you have any further aspirations in a fashion career?: Nope.
Kenny Weiss:
Grade: Junior
Your inspiration: Just wanted to set myself apart from everybody else.
Favorite Brands: hah I don’t wear specific brands. Anything I can get at the thrift store.
Inspired by any specific person?: my cousin, Cam Rottner
DHS's best/most uniquely dressed: I see so many people with all their different fashions and they’re all great!
Do you have any further aspirations in a fashion career?: Well, I gotta look good up on stage.
Niclas Rasmussen:
Grade: Junior
Your inspiration:I’m not sure what my inspiration is, I choose the clothes which I think look good and fit me, but it has to be something that is new and something that is different in a good way, and not way to different. I don’t think that the clothes I wear now are really different from what you wear, I just wear them a bit differently like the sock thing :) hehe
Favorite brands:I don’t have as many favorite American brands as I have Danish ones. But those American brands I like are Levis, Abercrombie & Fitch and Quicksilver, but the Danish brands I usually like to wear are called G-Star Raw, WeSC, Bjørn Borg and Jack & Jones.
Inspired by any specific person?:No not really, hehe
DHS's best/most uniquely dressed:Hmmm... good question, I don’t really know. There are some people who dress really uniquely, but I can’t really decide on which I like the best.
Do you have any further aspirations in a fashion career?: I don’t think so. It is not something that I really have thought about doing.
Meredith Persico:
Grade: Sophomore
Your inspiration: art in all different forms!
Favorite brands: I really wish I could afford clothing from the Japanese designer, Tsumori Chisato. For the most part my closet is pretty random. I don't think I have more than one thing from any one brand.
Inspired by any specific person?: No one in particular, but I love to browse street style fashion blogs.
DHS's best/most uniquely dressed: A lot of people here have great style, I can't pick just one. I really admire the guys who have their own style though.
Do you have any further aspirations in a fashion career?: I'm pretty sure I almost failed the home ec. sewing project in middle school, so I'm not sure how that'd turn out... I taught myself how to screen print this past summer though, so I'm excited to get back to that.
