They were the “masterminds” of the show, “Saturday Night Live” on NBC.
Samberg’s digital shorts and catchy songs with ridiculous lyrics are attracting many people to the show. A popular line from “I’m on a Boat” with T-Pain is, “I got my swim trunks, and my flippie-floppies, I'm flippin burgers, you at Kinko's straight flippin copies.” Some of these bits are even making it to the top 100 list and selling big on iTunes. Samberg is branching beyond the show to star in, “I Love You Man,”and hosting the MTV Movie Awards this year.
Another well-known face is Jason Sudeikis. He’s been in the cast for five years, and he’s known for starring in a popular act, “The two A-holes,” where he plays a self-centered husband. You may have also seen him playing the United States Vice President, Joe Biden. Sudeikis has been in many popular movies like “The Rocker” and “Semi-Pro” and he’s looking forward to his new upcoming movie, “The Bounty,” which he will star along Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler.
Kristen Wiig seems to be in every “SNL” skit for the last five years of her SNL career, and there is a good reason for it. Wiig recently received her first Emmy nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Her popular skits include playing characters like a Target Clerk, Suze Orman, Elisabeth Hasselbeck from “The View,” and many others that would take a whole page to list. “Extract” is Wiig’s most recent film that featured heavy Hollywood hitters Jason Bateman, Ben Affleck, and Mila Kunis.
The mystery is, “Will Saturday Night Live be around 20 years from now?” It’s all up to the fans.

Everyone knows the names of comedians Chris Farley and Will Ferrell. They were the “masterminds” of the show, “Saturday Night Live” on NBC. Farley left in 1997 and Ferrell departed in 2002 leaving a big hole. Filling their spots are fresh, new actors and comedians ready to prove their talent to the world. The cast became more and more in sync with one another each show of the 2009 season. I believe they will definitely make a name for the veteran show to bring it back to greatness.
“SNL” is trying to keep its Saturday night viewing tradition alive. They are succeeding. The show is producing non-stop laughter each episode. The consistency shows that there is a bright future. There are some cast members that are stepping out of the crowd and who knows, they could become the next Will Ferrell.
The show shed some key actors this fall. Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson were sacked after just one season and stepping in for them are new actors, Nasim Pedrad and Jenny Slate. Will these actresses connect with the audience? To be completely honest, I have no idea what these two actresses look like and they aren’t noticed when they are in the show. It’s been three weeks since Pedrad and Slate started acting on the show and I still think they are just cast extras. It’s hard to match up to the veteran cast.
Five-year SNL veteran actor, Andy Samberg, is one who is becoming an ever increasingly popular face. You may know him as the star of the YouTube phenomena “Lazy Sunday” music video. Samberg continues to deliver on the promise he showed with “Lazy Sunday” in 2005.
