Jelena has set up a place for herself that she calls “relaxing and defines who I am.” The pink walls say enough.
I took Art Foundations last year and Drawing and Painting now. I’m definitely planning on getting these framed and hung in my room.
Our neighbors have horses that walk around their yard that I love looking at. It inspires me to one day learn how to ride them.
I take lessons at Giuliano’s Music Center in Darien, although I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not that good! My favorite song to play on the guitar is Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T’s.
From the moment you walk into sophomore Jelena Pesa’s abode, you get the sense that this is more than just a place to snooze. Just minutes away from the Ox Ridge Hunt Club, she daydreams while watching horses running around in the field outside her house. Her room looks straight out of a PB teen catalog— organized, colorful, and a place for friends to come over after-school and unwind. After moving to Darien in 2007, she thought that her room could use a bit more of her personality. “Although our decorator did most of the work, I still had some say in my room, such as the color.”
I like to do my homework in my playroom—but with two sisters around, it can get pretty distracting.

My sister (16-year-old Kate, who attends St. George's in Newport, RI) and I love to go through each others’ closets. Now that she’s at boarding school, we make a deal to switch our clothes every couple of weeks.” Her walk-in closet is neatly organized to make finding her clothes easier.
My cat sleeps right next to me every night. We fall asleep to the radio.
