Fifth Graders – Now Is Your Time To Join!

Fifth Graders, now is your time to join Junior Great Books.  Do you enjoy reading? This is your chance to meet in a small group to talk about terrific stories. Sharing ideas in a small group setting and exploring various opinions of other participants is an excellent preparation for middle school.  There are no wrong answers and your opinion always counts.

Each Junior Great Books group is led by a trained parent volunteer.  The program will run from January to March during lunch/recess for eight weeks. The stories are short, a pleasure to read and definitely worth talking about! This fun program provides a superb framework for strong reading comprehension, critical thinking and writing.

Class size is limited to ensure optimal discussions, so return your form to the office ASAP. Please enclose a check for $50 made payable to Ox Ridge PTO. Fees cover volunteer training, supplies and a grade specific collection of stories for each participating student.  Registration deadline is December 7th.
