Welcome Desk

The Welcome Desk is the desk directly inside the front doors of the school. It is staffed by parent volunteers at all times that school is in session.

There are two main reasons for the Welcome Desk.  First and most importantly, it is a layer of safety for the school.  Second, it's a friendly person to answer questions, provide directions and assist visitors in whatever they may need. 

There are four 1.5 hour shifts each day, and someone is scheduled for each shift for every day in the school year.  The first shift each day (9:15 – 10:45) is also responsible for Kid Call.  The primary purpose of Kid Call is to ensure that all students marked absent by their teachers are accounted for, either by a parental phone call or verification from the teacher that the parent has contacted them.
