Second Semester at a Glance:
I would like to congratulate the 2nd semester graphic design class for their wonderful effort in entering the poster contest for the Darien Revitalization Project. Students designed posters that represented what it means to go green. Their designs were judged by the Darien Revitalization group.

Ceramics
1: 4th
quarter: Students will be required to design an independent project that encompasses all that they have learned. Students will also be required to complete a bottle project and decorative plate project. As always, students are expected to
apply previous knowledge to all their projects.
Grading will be based on a project rubric, class behavior and effort and homework/research.
Ceramics
2: 4th
quarter: Students will be responsible for a wall sculpture and an independent project. Students will be required to research ceramic artists for ideas. Student will have options on styles and
different clay bodies. Grades will
be based on a rubric, projects completed on time and class room behavior, effort craftsmanship.
3-D
Clay:
Students are introduced to elements of design through the creation of a
letter sculpture. Students will
focus on patterns, rhythm, shape, space, etc. Students will then make food sculptures,
book sculptures, surreal shoes and expressions in clay.
Principles
of Design:As we
enter the 4th quarter, students will complete their final project of
altering images in either a pop art style or Fauve style. Students will
then work with Photoshop CS2. Project will include an image in the style of
the artist Chuck Close, Surreal image, and a final project of
creating an illustrated book using either illustrator and/or photoshop representing a word or phrase.
