Welcome to IDEA! This class is intended to stretch the student to achieve. Specifically, the 9th-grade IDEA objectives are:

  1. To develop and extend communication (speaking, writing, appropriate verbal communication with others, presentation skills, group work)
  2. To encourage utilization of higher-level thinking skills (thinking outside the box, willing to work through a problem on one’s own or with a group, creativity, self-motivation)
  3. To encourage productive interaction with intellectual peers (giving and accepting feedback and others’ opinions with respect and open-mindedness, working toward common goal in group/class; accepting and respecting diversity of human experience and each other; speaking to each other with kindness and respect; willingness to challenge an attitude or opinion appropriately, active participation in WIPs)
  4. To develop an awareness of individual potential and responsibility (self-evaluation, willingness to identify and accept own strengths and weaknesses and commit to addressing them; being on time to class with all materials ready; meeting all deadlines; cleaning up after self; helping others; making up missed work/meetings; observing safety rules; appropriate behavior, language and attitude; effort, turning in all assignments including midterm and final on time)

EXTRA HELP:

I am available before school starting at 7:00. I am also free during Periods 1, 2 and 4. After school I can be available with appointment.
