Today we shared the artifacts that each student brought in.

We compiled a list of American values and put them into "sets"

We handed out the Observing America assignment.

HW: Select one of the artifacts and determine which value you think best exemplifies the United States. Write a paragraph explaining your decision.

Today we were in the library working on Step 4 of the Observing America assignment.

By the end of class, you should have found an article that ties into your selected value.

HW: Start work on your paper due on Friday.

 

 

 

Extra credit movie after school today at 6. You can only get the extra credit if you have handed in the extra credit. Remember to be there by 6 if you want the credit.

We started to work in groups to read contemporary American Indian stories.

Today we continued to look at contemporary American Indians in order to gain insight into their values.

We worked in groups and read a variety of stories and articles.

We ended with a discussion on the values.

We listened to the NPR story on the importance of language and effort to preserve the Crow language.

HW: Read both stories about pre-contact Native American life. Be ready for an assignment on Monday.

Today we finished going over the Consitution and discussed the merits and flaws of the documents.

Period 6- Went over the Bill of Rights.

 

 


Our discussion of GW's presidency and the precedents he established leads us to the suggestions he makes in his farewell speech. We graded the United States off of GW's suggestions.

HW: Read Reign of Witches and watch the movie clip on Adam's presidency. Complete the Report Card assignment.
