Teacher's Welcome

Lynn H. Brown

Welcome to my webpage!  If you are here, then you are probably in one of my classes and would like to know what to expect.  As a high school teacher I look forward to interacting with students whose creativity is at its peak.  History is important.  It effects all of us, and through its study we can not only learn about and understand where we have been, but also why the world is the way it is.  Even more importantly, we can foresee where we will be going.

George Bernard Shaw coined a spectacular quote; "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place."  Communication is the key to success in all areas of life, whether you are a historian, a doctor, an engineer, a professional athlete etc.  All professions and most daily activities require communication to be successful.  Therefore, as we move through the school year, you and I will be doing a great deal of communicating what it will take for you to succeed in my class.

"We have learned that we cannot live alone, at peace; that our own well-being is dependent upon the well-being of other nations far away." ~FDR

I am available for extra help before school starting at 7 in the Social Studies Office.  I also try to stay after school whenever possible to help students, however this is more difficult in the Fall as I also coach soccer.  Make an appointment with me during a free period, (3, 7 or 8), if 7am is just too early for you!
