President Obama has to prioritize.&n= bsp; The following events take place in a given week. How should the President set his schedule

Period 3

Scenario –An earthquake of 6.5 was just registered in LA County there are reports of a few deaths and a few raised highway areas collapsing= . The area continues to suffer from tremors and there is a concern of a more severe quake.

Scenario- Roadside bombings continue to plague Afghanistan. During the month of October more t= han 30 US Military troops were killed. On average 20 Afghanis are killed a day in by the Taliban. A disproportionate number of the insurgents are from Pakistan, an ally of the US. Americans are starting to get tire= d of the war, at the same time others argue that more troops should be sent in.<= o:p>

Scenario- Oil Prices spike to $100.00 a barrel, the US Economy is just getting out of a recession. E= conomic growth in the last term was an anemic 1% and job losses have increased to o= ver 10%. No one is sure about the cause for= the increase, some say OPEC, others say price manipu= lation by Oil companies, a few argue it’s simply supply and demand issues

Scenario- The Presidents health care proposal is about to go to the Senate, 55 Senators are ready to vote yes, 3 are on the fence, and 2 member= s of his party appear to be jumping to the other side. 2 members from the other party may= jump ship and go with the Bill, but they haven’t come out publically. The House has already passed the B= ill. The American public appears split as well. The White House is gett= ing 1000s of emails and letters from both sides.

Period 7

Scenario – H1N1 Flu is on the rise in Mexico. While flu issues have not been a m= ajor concern in recent years, the 1918 influenza epidemic led to more than 20 million deaths worldwide (there was no such thing as a flu vaccine at that time). There is a huge concer= n in the United States.

Scenario – North Korea announces that it has just tested a rocket which is believed to have a potential distance of 4,000 miles. It can carry a nuclear warhead. Th= is puts our allies, such as Japan in immediate danger, as well as US bases.&= nbsp; An attack on North Korea would likely result in an immediate reprisal from the North Koreans killing millions in S. Korea alone. <= /span>

Scenario – A corruption scandal is about to break, the FBI is g= oing to arrest 3 leading members of the Democratic Party, including the Senate Whip. In addition it looks li= ke at least one cabinet member in the Department of Housing is involved.

Scenario- The financial industry is in turmoil. Three of the five big= gest banks in the nation are on the verge of collapsing. The stock market is gyrating up an= d down 100s of points daily. Credit markets are frozen, Auto companies are about to = file bankruptcy which will lead to 100s of smaller companies having the rug pull= ed from under them. The country = is looking at a 1929 scenario.

1. Prioritize the President's agenda: Where should he (someday she) be spending his time?

Provide your reasoning for each of the selections.

2. Name three (3) agencies/cabinet offi= ces that should be at each meeting/scenario: Which cabinet officials, administrative agencies (eg. Dept of Justice, S= tate, FEMA, NSA, CIA, Council of Economic Advisors (CEA), EPA, FBI, Joint Chiefs of Sta= ff, National Health Institute, CDC (Center for Disease Control) (INCLUDE ACTUAL REAL NAMES AND TITLES).
