Welcome Message from Principal, MaryLee Fisher

Welcome to Tokeneke School in Darien, Connecticut, an elementary school serving approximately 400 pre-kindergarten through fifth graders. This is another exciting year for us. Last January the school moved into a beautiful, state-of-the-art building flooded with sunlight. We are enjoying the new building and have grown to love it like our old school.
Technology has been fully integrated into the classrooms with computers and Smart Boards in each K-5 class. We also have a computer lab, mobile lab, library, cafeteria, gymnasium, two playgrounds and specially equipped rooms dedicated to art and music. This year our fields will finally be opened and will include two baseball diamonds.
It is our mission at Tokeneke to provide every child with the tools they will need to be a good citizen and a respected member of their community…the key to achieving this is education. Our goal is to provide every child with that key, including reading, writing, communications,computing,problem-solving,appreciatingand participating in the arts and respecting one another.
This year we welcome the District’s ELP program (Early Learning Program) for preschool children. We will have three classes of children with special needs and their typical peers.
We are very proud of our new school but we realize that the most important part of any school are the people who are inside. Our wonderful students, dedicated and nurturing staff and supportive and active parents all help to make Tokeneke a positive environment to learn and grow.
Sincerely,
MaryLee Fisher
