May 2004 Visit of SGS to Darien

Round Two

During the month of May 2004, DHS hosted students and staff from Shanghai Girls' School #3. This is the second phase of our Darien-Shanghai Exchange Program through the U.S. State Department. DHS is one of 12 schools participating in this exciting and rewarding initiative!

On May 1st, nine women and two staff members arrived in Darien. They were in the United States until May 24th. During their visit, they attended classes at DHS, visited our elementary schools and MMS. They presented programs on China to the DCA and the Darien Senior Center. Their visit included trips all over Darien as well as New York City and Washington DC. It was a very busy and informative visit!

We all wish to extend a warm welcome to our friends from China!  We also want to thank the students at DHS, the staff at DHS, and the numerous community members volunteering to make their visit extra special.
