The District’s primary approach to building competencies to support social and emotional learning is RULER. The RULER approach, a research based program, was developed by Dr. Marc Brackett, Director Of the Center for Emotional Intelligence at Yale University.
The research-supported benefits of RULER include:
- Improved academic performance for students
- Increased emotional intelligence and social skills
- Decreased anxiety and depression
- Improved school climate
- Reduced bullying
- Enhanced student leadership skills and attention
